- Part-time researcher and Mphil student
After completing his BA Honours programme, Alberto joined RADAR in 2014 as a junior researcher. Currently, Alberto serves as a Researcher and is involved in Communications and administration for both RADAR and Periperi U. Since joining Alberto has been involved in a number of activities and projects related to RADAR and Periperi U. He has worked together with RADAR's administrative team to coordinate logistics for local and international strategic engagements undertaken by RADAR staff and Periperi staff. He has been involved with RADARs academic and training activities, providing and support to RADAR's postgraduate programmes, short courses and Periperi Us upcoming summer school. He is involved in reporting and monitoring of RADAR and Periperi U activities and engagements, responsible for quarterly reporting for the consortium. Alberto is also responsible for the RADAR and Periperi U's online platforms which include the management and updating of their websites and social media pages, as well as overseeing their general online presence.
Alberto's interests include urban and community-based related disasters, disaster risk reduction and disaster governance, particular within low-income and informal settlements. Recently Alberto completed RADAR's Mphil program in disaster risk science and development, in which he conducted research on the energy use strategies of low-income households, analysing whether households still utilised dangerous flame based energy sources to meet their energy needs, and what implications such strategies had upon fire risk for themselves.
