Patricia Zweig

- Lecturer, DRS Honours course Convenor, Short Course Facilitator & Researcher

Trish has an MA cum laude in Geography & Environmental Studies from the University of Cape Town and is currently registered for a PhD in geography & Environmental Studies with a sub-specialisation in Disaster Risk Studies at the University of Stellenbosch where she has been teaching since 2011. She has spent many years working among low income communities, particularly in informal settlements and has a passion for community—based research and outreach activities, often working in collaboration with partners external to the University. Her research interests include urban risk and vulnerability as well as livelihood studies. As part of the RADAR team she has been involved in extensive ex-post disaster studies in the Western Cape region. She also conducts regular short courses for practitioners on disaster risk topics
